Knud Holscher Design
Knud Holscher, born on 6 May 1930, occupies a significant place among Denmark's most renowned architects and designers.
As a partner at KHR Arkitekter, he has contributed significantly to Danish architecture by designing significant buildings such as Odense University, now known as Southern Denmark University Odense, as well as parts of Copenhagen Airport, Finger B. These projects served as a catalyst for his early recognition and the establishment of his name within the industry.
However, Knud Holscher's merit extends far beyond the world of architecture. His industrial designs have not only brought him great recognition but also an impressive collection of awards. However, it is important to correct a misunderstanding, as it is not correct that he also designed the controversial HT terminal on the Town Hall Square in Copenhagen. This terminal was actually designed under the leadership of Svend Axelson after Knud Holscher's resignation from KHR
After his time at KHR Arkitekter, Knud Holscher has continued his dedication to design as the day-to-day manager of Knud Holscher Design. This company focuses on industrial design and product design and has established fruitful collaborations with recognized clients such as d line, Georg Jensen, Ifö, Lamy, Erco, Flos/Antares, Zumtobel, Tandberg, Philips, Coloplast, Paustian, Pressalit, Metro Copenhagen, Lindab, Holmegaard, and many more.
Internationally, Knud Holscher has proven his diversity by being behind projects such as Bahrain's national museum. This testifies to his ability to transcend cultural boundaries and deliver world-class design solutions.
Knud Holscher's contribution to both architecture and design is an inspiration for the industry as well as for future generations. His impressive career and dedication to the craft have left a significant mark on Danish and international design history. We look forward to seeing how his influence continues to shape and enrich our architectural and design landscapes.
